Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Dr Ted's Online Training

  • How can I evaluate and decided whether I'm interested in this training?
    • First, watch Dr Ted's introductory video to understand the philosophy behind the training. Second, identify the topics most useful for you based on learning journeys. Third, review the course content to decide which course you want to complete first. Fourth, make sure that you have sufficient pre-requisite knowledge and complement your knowledge with pre-study resources. Lastly, if you are still not sure please feel free to review (without purchase) the first 12-minute part (20 %) of the course (offline download of the presentation, materials and audio is not possible without purchase).
  • What can I really learn anything if the duration of one course is only one hour?
    • Answer: You can learn a lot based on one hour course, but unfortunately not everything during consecutive 3600 seconds. During the course pace is fast with advanced content is packed into bite-size parts and extended by supplementary materials, tasks and quizzes. It of course depends on the participant, but for a fruitful learning experience I would recommend at least one day of full time study is per course. If studying in parallel with full-time work you should try max one 12-minute part plus 1-2 hours of self-study and reflection per day. Note that the purpose of the course is to give you directions to study further. This training is about skill transformation, not knowledge per see.
  • Can I benefit from this training if I have PMP certification and 10 years of IT PM experience?
    • Absolutely. Work as an IT PM requires on-going learning and personal growth. Complex IT projects are always a challenge and thus IT PMs can never give up on developing better leadership skills. Especially the changes in technology, work culture and business environment drive the need for practical self-development of IT PMs.
  • Will this training help me become IT PM as I have IT experience in a technical role?
    • Answer: Yes, but your learning curve regarding project management topics will be very steep. It would be good to complete an introductory PM training before Dr Ted's training.
  • Can this training help me become IT PM as I have non-IT PM experience?
    • Answer: Yes, but your learning curve regarding  IT topics will be extremely steep. Free learning resources on general IT topics are are provided and self-study is possible, but IT work experience with growing responsibilities is the best way to move to IT PM role.
  • Do I get an official certificate or can I claim PDUs from this training?
    • Answer: Not yet. The focus of this training is raising your practical skills and daily IT PM performance to a new level. If you are into brownie points you need to find them somewhere else. Sorry... If you are motivated and committed to learning and want to perform better in IT projects you have come to the right place.
